Joshua Tree: A Southern California Engagement Session Location
As much as I LOVE the beach vibes for engagement sessions, the desert vibes are a close second!! These two were willing to drive all the way from Los Angeles to Joshua Tree National Park and we had such a fun time together. I love when clients are willing to go that extra mile for their photos because it totally elevates the experience. If you’re down to go someplace special or put a little extra thought & planning into your wedding or session, it will always elevate the experience AND the outcome!!
If you’re not feeling the typical Southern California engagement session locations, why not head out to Joshua Tree?! You can totally make it into a fun road trip with you and your partner, and there are also a ton of super cute Airbnb’s that you can stay at if you want to make it a little staycation like these two did! There are so many fun hikes and adventures you can embark on – we could seriously spend the whole day taking photos and not get bored. Whenever you’re ready to go, I’m right there with you!!
A few tips for your Joshua Tree engagement session…
First of all, we HAVE to take photos during sunset because you seriously cannot be the sun setting over the desert mountains! This was one of my absolute favorite parts of this Joshua Tree engagement session. Plus, if we take photos later in the day, it won’t be as hot in the desert and you’ll be much more comfortable!!
Second, don’t be afraid to let loose during your engagement session! Once we started playing music, Allycyn and Micheal really got into it and started having a great time. I know it can feel weird to be in front of the camera, but don’t let that stop you from goofing around!! If you think your man will be stiff during the photos, go out for a drink beforehand or bring a bottle of champagne to pop during your session!
